Do you remember the long days of summer growing up? It was a time when children could run around town and the parents did not worry about where they were or how long they were gone. There were no cell phones, no real video games (except that paddle tennis game consisting entirely of a moving blip and two dashes ). How did we survive? We played. Williams Rec Program offers your children a chance to play and the parents the comfort of knowing they are being safely supervised.
The Williams Youth Recreation Center Summer program starts June 6th and ends July 22nd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is for children aged 6-13.
The program participants will have fun with children their own age enjoying swimming, weekly field trips, playing sports and board games as well as crafts and organized activities. The field trips include going to the movies, bowling, amusement park and Bearizona.
The program is supervised by a staff of seven that includes 3 teachers from the local school district. This cost of the program is kept as low as possible to allow children of working families to have something to do during the summer. Also, the Civitan Foundation provides free nutritional lunches and an afternoon snack for children in the program. The cost is $5 per day, plus the price of field trips. The total cost for the entire program plus field trips is $191. Multi-child family discounts are available. Registration packets are available at the Rec Center on 300 W. Railroad Ave. More information is available by calling (928) 635-1496 or clicking here.
